Objective

The student can plan, implement and assess the follow-up of a school child’s and adolescent’s growth and development in consultation with the family
The student can, with resource promoting methods, support the school child, the adolescent and family in health promoting choices
The student can assess the school child’s, adolescent’s and family’s need of additional support and further treatment
The student can maintain and encourage a safe upbringing, school and study environment

Content

The service system and activities within the school and student health care, care chain,
Legislation governing school and student health care.
Student health and the multi-professional collaboration.
Child protection
Comprehensive and recurring health surveys, screenings of school children and young people
Resource promoting and health-promoting counseling (both group and individual counseling on mental health, weight, tobacco, drugs, sexual health and violence both physically and mentally, bullying)

Qualifications

It is recommended that students participate in courses during semesters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and have completed at least 180 credits.
