Objective

The Student:
- understands the significance of human sexuality throughout the life cycle and can consider sexuality as an integral part of the individual, health, and nursing care
- understands the meaning of sexual and reproductive health and rights and is familiar with guidelines and recommendations concerning sexual and reproductive health
- has the knowledge to identify sexual violence and act on suspicion of sexual violence
- has basic knowledge of normal pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period
- is familiar with the most common gynecological complaints and conditions, their underlying pathophysiology, prevention, nursing care, and treatment
- is familiar with the most common gynecological cancers, their underlying pathophysiology, prevention, nursing care, and treatment
- understands the importance of health promotion and preventive care at different stages of life, and guidance based on individual resources and supports in self-care
- can perform nursing care planning and documentation according to the Finnish classification system

Human sexuality, gender identity, and sexual orientation
Sexual and reproductive health and rights at different stages of life
Sexual violence
Normal pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period, and the structure and service system of maternity care
The most common gynecological complaints and diseases, and the basics of care and treatment for gynecological diseases and complaints
The most common gynecological cancers and the basics of care and treatment for gynecological cancers
