Objective

The Student:
- has knowledge of and understand the importance of child- and family-centered nursing care
- can explain the normal physical and psychological development and health of children and adolescents to identify deviations
- can apply a health-promoting approach in working with children and adolescents
- is familiar with and can identify health problems, health risks, and risk environments affecting children, adolescents, and families
- has knowledge of and understands the characteristics of pediatric nursing care
- has knowledge of the nursing care of the most common diseases in children
- can perform advanced medication management for children
- can identify and analyze nursing care needs in pediatric patients
- can perform nursing care planning and documentation according to the Finnish classification system
- has knowledge to identify child abuse and act on suspicion of abuse
- understands and have basic knowledge of resuscitation and can perform key care measures for sick children
