The student
- knows the production biology of the grass plants
- can take into account the biological properties and plant factors of the species when designing cultivation techniques
- knows parameters that describe feed quality and can take them into account when designing animal feed production

Content

Cultivation of roughage in Finland
Roughage plants: plant species and production biology
Roughage: quality parameters
Perennial grassland: co-cultivation, establishment, fertilization and plant protection
Perennial grass: endurance, supplementary sowing and grass renovation
Crops for green fodder and whole grain silage
Pasture management
The course is based on several of the global sustainability goals, mainly the goals of Responsible production, ecosystems and biodiversity as well as Climate action.
