The student
- understands the nutrition needs of crops and can take measures to remedy nutritional deficiencies
- knows the characteristics of mineral fertilizers marketed in Finland
- can choose the most suitable fertilizer for a particular use, and can calculate the amount needed to satisfy an individual crop's needs in a single crop rotation
- can take appropriate technical and strategic measures to optimize the utilization of nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers
