Objective

The student
- understands the anatomy and physiology of domesticated animals and their effects on feeding and breeding of production animals in the animal husbandry (cattle, pigs, sheep, poultry and horses)

Content

Animal anatomy (including muscles, bones, respiratory system, bloodstream, digestive tract, urinary tract, nervous system and reproductive organs)
Animal physiology (including temperature control, breasts, breast matching and coverage / insemination, factors affecting pregnancy outcome)
In addition, fetal development, calf birth and calf birth assistance are also dealt with in ordinary production animals in the agricultural industry.

Qualifications

No previous knowledge required

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)

50 % of the points in the written exam required for a grade on an acceptable level (grade 0 - 5)
Projected work and exercises will influence on the final grade according to specific instructions in the course plan and descriptions on the moodle site
