Objective
The student will
- become familiar with the specific caring needs of a disabled or an elderly patient and has good insights into the organization of care for persons with special needs and elderly patients in our society
- be able to carry out the nursing process in both elderly nursing care and nursing care for the client with special needs
- prepare to take part in a multiprofessional team and create a natural caring relationship with the patient/client
- be able to communicate, at least on a basic level, in Swedish and/or Finnish with the patient, and be able to follow the general rules and routines in a working environment
- demonstrate respect for the patient´s integrity and autonomy, understand the fundamentals of rehabilitation and demonstrate an ability to support the patient in the rehabilitation process
- be able to perform safe drug administration under supervision
- be able to employ safe working methods
