Objective

The student will be able to:
- take part in a multi-professional team and create a natural caring relationship with the patient
- communicate with patients and colleagues in Swedish or Finnish. The supervision also gradually shifts from English to Swedish or Finnish
- follow the general rules and routines in a working environment
- demonstrate an understanding of health promotion working methods and implement these in his/her own practice
- become familiar with the health center organization, as well as the working methods at different wards and receptions
- implement the nursing process in the care of an ill child or a pregnant woman, in both simulated and real situations, under supervision
- apply evidence-based nursing, as well as identify and analyze the specific needs of the child, the pregnant woman, and the family
- employ safe working methods
- perform safe drug administration for children and pregnant women
- guide the family in health promotion and illness prevention
- employ health promotion working methods
