Objective

The goals of this course are that the students:
-are familiar with special pedagogy as a scientific area and a practical activity.
-have basic knowledge about how different types of functional disorders occur and how these may affect the client's development.
-are familiar with the methodology of different special needs groups and understand the importance of these for the individual's learning and development.

Content

- special education as a field of science and as a practical activity
- different types of disabilities, their origin and how these affect development
- the methodology of various disabilities
- the most common disabilities

The student demonstrates superficial competence and basic understanding of the subject

The student demonstrates a competence that is related and linked to the literature

The student has an immerse competence and shows a deeper understanding of the subject in relation to the upcoming profession

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The student possesses a basic competence in the subject / The student does not show sufficient competence in the subject

Students have been able to observe and analyze the knowledge and in addition have shown clarity about key concepts and definitions. The text shows logic in structure and students can also make relevant, reflective parallels.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

Students show strong insight and maturity in their understanding, beyond the ordinary. Can reflect on the various phenomena in a profound way. Students show commitment to their task.
