Objective

The student
- has knowledge of health care provided for people of working age and can apply current legislation and national policy documents
- has knowledge and readiness to provide good occupational health care
- can carry out health surveys and promote health and wellbeing among people of working age
- has basic knowledge of how to investigate health hazards at the workplace through a workplace survey and how to conduct risk assessment at the workplace. The student also ha insights into occupational medicine
- recognises the characteristics of health promotion among the elderly and can support the promotion of health and wellbeing of the elderly and their families
- respects the cultural affiliation of the clients/patients
- can work within various networks and teams to support people of working age, the elderly and their families

Legislation and governance documents in occupational health and safety at work
Principles for good occupational health care practice
Health screening for working age population, maintenance of work- and functional capacity, follow-up of the working person during the various stages of working life, assessment of work capacity
Business plans, workplace surveys and follow-up of the work community
Medical issues
Health survey and health advice for older, resource-enhancing working methods
Multi-professional and multicultural health care work
