Objective
The student:
* has a good command of the basics of the mechanics of materials
* knows how to do simple dimensioning calculations for typical frame units used in buildings
* knows how to identify the risks connected with strength in different bearing structures.
Content
Introduction to the strength teaching
Traction, pressure and shear stresses
Hookes layer and elastic modulus
The most common construction materials and their properties
heat Tensions
Bending strength, bending moment, cross-section inertia and bending resistance
Transverse diagram and torque diagram
deflecting
Rotate strength
fatigue strength
Buckling Strength
Tilting, buckling and other stability problems
Strength terminology in Swedish, Finnish and English
