Objective

The student
- can identify methods for early intervention and need for emergency assistance
- can distinguish mental health services taking into account the individual needs of the client
- knows and can evaluate different treatment methods in mental health and substance abuse work
- has knowledge of and can apply legislation and social governance in mental and substance abuse care
- can identify individual and societal consequences of abuse and dependence and apply preventive work in mental health and substance abuse care
