Objective
The student’s health care practice is based on existing legislation, as well as national and international policy documents
The student obtains a deeper knowledge in health promotion and preventive health care in different operational environments
The student uses evidence-based knowledge in the planning, implementation and assessment of client-centered health promotion work
The student can use resource promoting operating models and methods
The student can, by means of outreach health care, support clients, families and communities, which are in need of special support
The student takes cultural factors into account when supporting health and functional ability of clients from different cultures
The student demonstrates the required skills in medication management

Legislation in social and health care, social and health policy programs and recommendations
Promotional and preventive health care work
Health policy lines in the EU and WHO
Resource promoting work methods, client involvement, client centering
Ethical principles within Nursing Science and decision making in health promotion work
Actions models and working methods in health care work: dialogue, speaking, motivational conversations, resource promoting supervision, functional working methods, early intervention, group activities, home visits, reception activities, telephone and network supervision, social media and electronic supervision and consultation, video conferencing, low-threshold service

Breastfeeding supervision
The breastfeeding supervision course corresponds to WHO's / Unicef's 20 hours of breastfeeding supervisor training. The course provides participants with basic skills to provide breastfeeding guidance.

It is recommended that students participate in courses during semesters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and have completed 180 credits.
